Greywalls – Silverdale

Situated at Jenny Brown’s Point in Silverdale, Greywalls is a striking contemporary home designed to feel immersed in its natural surroundings. Introduced by HPA Architects, the clients approached Wilson Builds following a recommendation and a visit to another recently completed project in the area, where they were impressed by the quality of our timber-frame construction.

The brief was to create a Scandinavian-inspired family home that would feel connected to nature while achieving energy performance close to passive-house standards. Designed for a family of four and their two dogs, the house needed to provide light-filled living spaces today while remaining practical and accessible for the future.

Working closely with HPA Architects and quantity surveyor Ed Bushell, we constructed the timber frame on site, allowing us to maintain the high level of precision and craftsmanship required for this type of build. The property sits down a narrow country lane, making site access challenging and ruling out the possibility of a prefabricated flat-pack system. Our joinery expertise meant the team were able to construct the frame from scratch, ensuring both quality and flexibility throughout the build.

Completed to exceptional energy-efficiency standards, Greywalls blends contemporary Scandinavian design with locally sourced materials, creating a home that feels both modern and naturally rooted in its Silverdale setting.
