Smithy Close – Natland

traditionally built rear extension

Located in the village of Natland, Smithy Close involved replacing an ageing UPVC conservatory with a
traditionally built rear extension that better complemented the existing property. Having previously worked
with Wilson Builds, the homeowners returned to Dan and the team to create a comfortable, well-insulated
living space that could be enjoyed all year round.

Working from plans by Rocket Architects, Wilson Builds constructed a brick and rendered extension with a
slate roof to seamlessly match the original house. Restricted access to the rear garden presented logistical
challenges throughout the build, requiring specialist equipment to transport materials through a narrow
gateway while carefully protecting the existing patio and pathways. Completed in June 2026, the new
extension has transformed an underused conservatory into a bright, energy-efficient garden room that feels
like a natural extension of the home.

“We’re delighted with the work carried out by Wilson Builds. They delivered a fantastic extension which we
absolutely love. The whole team were friendly, approachable and extremely helpful throughout, and we had
complete confidence in the project from start to finish.”
